Brainstorming Ideas:
1. I picked Acadia National Park, because I found the images of the ocean and the rock formations there to be an interesting choice for the collage.
2. I believe that the proportions are accurate in the shape and size of the rocks. The colors of the water could be different in order to make it seem more realistic. I used shading on the water near the rocks by using a darker blue. 3. I cut out and used textured pieces for the rocks and parts of the ocean to give it more value. 4. I cut out and used small pieces from magazines and colored paper. These shapes were mostly squares, rectangles, and triangles to fill the page. 5. I believe I did attempt to show foreground by using the rock formations and textures as something to get the attention of the viewers first. In the middle ground, I used the different shades of blue for the water, and for the background I used one main color for the water in the distance. 6. I believe my craftsmanship was mostly done well. I believe that I could have made some of the pieces for the ocean smaller and neater. 7. As stated above, I would make some of the pieces for the ocean much smaller. I would also place more rock pieces in the background, like in the reference image.

Brainstorming Ideas:
For this assignment, I looked at a picture of some peppers and drew what I saw on a piece of watercolor paper. Then, I would color the peppers in with watercolor paint.
Here, we first practiced using various techniques when using watercolor paint. Then, on the back of the page, we created three value charts for different colors and we shaded in three forms with watercolor.
For this assignment, I had to draw a fruit or vegetable and shade it in with colored pencils. I would also have to add a shadow or floor under the image, as well as a highlighted area.
Here, I had to draw cones and spheres on three different pieces of paper. I then had to shade them in using different colored pencils.
1. For this assignment, I was required to first create several sketches of my two favorite ideas for the final project. The final project is a perspective drawing of either a fairy-tale, or any other idea involving perspective or repeating objects. After drawing the sketches, I picked my final idea and started working on the main drawing. I drew the outline in pencil and then traced over it and added details in pen. I mainly used stippling for the ground, a mix of cross hatching and invented methods for the pyramid, and all three of those methods for the different entities in the image. For the rocks, I used hatching and invented lines to draw cracks. I used an invented method for most of the pyramid because I wanted to create a more block-like texture. The ground was mostly stippling so that it appeared to resemble dirt or sand. Each being in the image was different, so some of them were shaded in using hatching to give them a more unique look than the others that were shaded in using the invented method. For some objects and creatures, I used both stippling and invented methods since some sections looked better or more realistic using a certain form of shading.
2. For the project, I used the 3-point perspective method in worm's eye view on the pyramid. I also used perspective on objects that were farther away, such as the creatures floating near the top of the structure. Perspective is important, since using it can make a person's drawing seem more real, or more interesting. 4. When adding texture, I used different shapes on the creatures and I used texture on the rocks by drawing different cracks and shading them to make them look more realistic. That is the main reason why texture is important, since it can make the images seem more real. 5. Value is important because it can be used to shade in objects using transition methods in order to create contrast or emphasis on certain parts. Much like texture, value can also make images look more realistic. 6. Overall, I did like my craftsmanship in this project. I was able to use a 3-point perspective on the pyramid and I did like the textures I used for most of the objects in my drawing. I also believe my use of shading and value transitions was successful. I think that I could have improved my lines to make them more straight and equal and give the picture a more realistic look. I also believe I could have added some more objects on the ground and more creatures or shapes in the background. 7. As stated above, I believe one thing I would do if I could recreate this would be adding more objects in the background to fill in the white spaces. I also could add more texture to the ground and to the person looking at the pyramid. 8. My final idea was someone who just entered a world of unusual creatures standing and floating around a pyramid. I found the concept of someone entering a world like that, so I wanted to draw my own version. My version added the pyramid and changed the designs of the beings so that it would be more original. 9. It is important to understand the techniques taught in class because those methods can be useful when designing or drawing images for projects. These methods are also just useful for helping people improve as an artist in general, even outside of projects like this one. 10. Much like the last project, I believe this assignment did help me grow as an artist. It taught me how to use value transitions to make objects more interesting or realistic. I also now know how to use perspective when drawing buildings or structures, which I believe can help me in future projects for this class and for myself. This is is an in-progress photo of what will be my final drawing. I plan on adding more objects, characters, and details to it, as well as more textures and shading.
Here, I picked my favorite of the sketches below and drew a more detailed version, adding more texture and shading with pen. This sketch will be similar to the drawing in my final project.
Here, I had to draw three different sketches for two different ideas for the pen perspective drawing. I then had to upload them before picking two favorites before drawing one of those two for the final project.
